Quackers Limited is a swimming service that offers a wide range of swimming activities for people of all ages and abilities.

Quackers Swim School was founded in September 2008 by Mrs Charlotte Turnbull and named after her pet duck that she had at the time. Lessons started at The Lenton Centre with 104 children being taught to swim per week. Quackers were also awarded a contract with Nottingham School Swimming, teaching many of Nottingham’s school children to swim. This is still active today.

In July 2019, the original founder retired and the ownership of Quackers Swim School was transferred to The Lenton Centre (www.thelentoncentre.org.uk)

A new Manager, Mrs Joanne Lester was appointed to grow the Swim School and develop new programmes for the local community. Jo added various new classes to the timetable such as 1 to 1s, 1 to 2s, disabled lessons, rookie lifeguard, mermaids and also swimming parties.

Jo has an excellent team of professional qualified instructors, some have been with Quackers since the early days and some even started out as pupils within the swim school in 2008. The team are all qualified and have various levels of qualifications including Level 2 Teachers, Level 1 Assistant Teachers, Young Helpers and Volunteers who all contribute to making the swim school run smoothly and efficiently. Some of our staff hold specialist teaching qualifications and all of our teachers are Level 2 National Pool Lifeguard Qualified.

Quackers and The Lenton Centre have lots of exciting plans for the future to serve the community and make learning fun through exercise in many different ways.
